The seventh season of Fear the Walking Dead, an American horror-drama television series on AMC, premiered on October 17, 2021.[1] The 2d one-half of the season will premiere on April 17, 2022.[2] The series is a companion serial to The Walking Expressionless, which is based on the comic book series of the aforementioned proper noun by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The executive producers are Kirkman, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd, Scott K. Gimple, Andrew Chambliss, and Ian B. Goldberg, with Chambliss and Goldberg equally showrunners for the quaternary consecutive season.
The season follows Morgan's group scattered across the mural of Texas every bit they try to survive the nuclear fallout brought well-nigh past Teddy (John Glover) and his followers. Meanwhile, Morgan Jones (Lennie James) and Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) clash over their philosophies.

- Alexa Nisenson as Charlie: A young girl who was a spy for the Vultures. She was amid the survivors whom Althea and Isabelle saved from the nuclear boom.
- Karen David as Grace Mukherjee: A mysterious woman who used to work at a nuclear power plant that melted down nearly the site where the aeroplane of Morgan'southward grouping crashed. She is currently in a human relationship with Morgan Jones and the adoptive mother of Isaac and Rachel's girl, Morgan.

On December 3, 2020, the series was renewed for a seventh season.[20]
Casting [edit]
In July 2021, information technology was announced that Sydney Lemmon would return to the series as Isabelle. Lemmon last appeared in the show'southward fifth flavor, but made a voice-only appearance in the sixth season.[21] In September 2021, information technology was confirmed that Aisha Tyler joined the cast in an unknown part. Tyler previously directed an episode in the sixth season.[5] In December 2021, it was confirmed that Kim Dickens would reprise her role as Madison Clark in this season and the eighth flavor.[three]
Filming and writing [edit]
Production began in April 2022 in Texas.[22] Cast members Lennie James, Colman Domingo and Alycia Debnam-Carey each directed episodes in the seventh season. James and Domingo previously directed episodes in prior seasons and Debnam-Carey fabricated her directorial debut this flavor.[23] [24] [25]
Showrunner Ian Goldberg described the 7th season as a "nuclear zombie apocalypse western story", stating:
"The world has changed. The mural has now changed. Nosotros have multiple nuclear warheads that accept detonated, and then that'due south gonna alter everything. That'southward gonna modify the walkers, that's gonna change the living conditions, that's gonna change everything about how our characters navigate this globe. But when they got a handle on how to deal with the apocalypse, at present we have another apocalypse on top of the one they've been living in."[26]
